NEW ORLEANS, La. - Middle Tennessee women's basketball won the regular season Sun Belt title and earned the No. 1 seed for the upcoming SBC Championship tournament being held in Hot Springs, Ark., March 8-11. The official tournament bracket was announced by the league office on Saturday evening.
The Blue Raiders (22-7, 17-3 SBC) won their fifth consecutive conference title with a 17-3 mark in Sun Belt action. MT enters the tournament with a four game win streak after knocking off WKU 71-54 on Saturday.
Thanks to a first round bye, the Raiders are poised to take on either No. 8 seed Florida Atlantic or No. 9 seed ULM. Both of those programs will square off on Friday, March 8 at Noon. MT's first tournament action is set for Saturday at Noon inside the Summit Arena. The game is televised on the Sun Belt Network (CSS).
Sun Belt Tournament booklets are still on sale through the MT ticket office. Each booklet is only $83 and includes a ticket to every game from March 8-11. All seats are general admission. However, when Middle Tennessee is playing, a block of seats are located behind the team bench if the tickets are purchased from the MT ticket office.
Fans can purchase booklets in one of three ways; online at GoBlueRaiders.com, by visiting the Blue Raider ticket office at Gate 1A of Floyd Stadium, or by calling 615-898-5198.
