March 13, 2013 · @MTAthletics

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee head coach Kermit Davis has been named a finalist for the 2013 Skip Prosser Man of the Year award and the 2013 Hugh Durham award by Collegeinsider.com.

The Skip Prosser Award was established in 2008 to honor those who not only achieve success on the basketball court but who display moral integrity off of it as well. The Hugh Durham Award is given annually to the nation's top mid-major coach.

Additionally, Collegeinsider.com named Davis the Sun Belt Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career and Marcos Knight the league's Most Valuable Player.

The Blue Raiders also raked in multiple accolades from College Sports Madness and Collegehoopsdaily.com. Both organizations named Davis the Sun Belt Coach of the Year. Knight earned first-team honors from College Sports Madness, while Shawn Jones and Bruce Massey were named to the fourth team. Raymond Cintron was named Collegehoopsdaily.com's 6th Man of the Year for the Sun Belt.

Davis and the Blue Raiders are awaiting the announcement of their postseason fate. MT has already clinched an NIT berth, but is hopeful of an NCAA tournament berth when the field of 64 is announced on Sunday at 5 p.m. CT on CBS.
