Middle Tennessee women's tennis closes out a three-match homestand with South Alabama on Sunday. First serve with the Lady Jags is set for 11 a.m. tentatively scheduled to be played at Nashboro Village in Nashville. If weather permits, the match will be played in Murfreesboro.
MT (7-7) is coming off a 5-2 win over UALR. The Raiders have won two out of the last three contests. Senior Carla Nava has a team-best seven match win streak and has a 9-3 record in dual action. Flavia Nagayama and Nayara Moraes each lead Middle Tennessee with 10 wins.
On Saturday, South Alabama (11-6) dropped a 5-0 match to No. 31 Memphis. Mary Angela Martin leads the Lady Jags with an 11-3 mark, playing in four, five and six positions. USA and MT meet for the 25th time with the Lady Jags holding a 19-5 record. However, the Raiders have won four consecutive matches since 2004.
"South Alabama is a strong team with good depth throughout their lineup, so we know that we have to be ready for a fight on every court," said head coach Shelley Godwin.
