MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee women's golf team is back in action this week after a month-long hiatus from the links. The Blue Raiders will travel to Hot Springs, Ark., for the UALR Women's Golf Classic at Diamante Country Club Monday and Tuesday.

The women's classic features 17 teams, including a pair ranked in Golfstat.com's top 100 in the hosting Trojans (No. 91) and Eastern Michigan (No. 100). In addition to MT and the hosting Trojans, the field is comprised of Arkansas State, Ball State, UCA, Eastern Michigan, UMKC, Missouri State, North Texas, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, South Alabama, UTEP and Wichita State.

The Blue Raiders finished eighth in their last outing at the Jim West Challenge Feb. 17-18. MT started the final day strong as Allie Knight, Ashley Haggard and Emily Miller played well the first nine holes. The Blue Raiders vaulted as high as fourth midway through the final round at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club before falling to eighth out of 12 teams.

Sophomore Allie Knight paced the Blue Raiders with a 54-hole total of 235. An early charge by Knight got her as high as fourth overall before settling on a team-best 79 in the final round and a final tournament high standing of 12th.

Senior Olivia Love leads MT with a 77.80 stroke average in five tournaments, while freshman Avery George has also been solid with a 78.11 average in six appearances. Senior Ashley Haggard is the only Blue Raider to play in all seven tournaments this year and averages 78.38 per round.

The event begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. The teams will play two rounds Monday before rounding out the tournament on Tuesday.
