HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. - The Middle Tennessee women's golf team made a strong push in the final rounds of the UALR Golf Classic to finish in second place on Tuesday at Diamante Country Club.

The teams wrapped up round two after it was suspended Monday and played the final round on Tuesday.

Middle Tennessee rallied from fifth after the first round, knocking 20 strokes off the team score in the second round to finish with a team score of 938 (324-304-310), just one stroke behind tournament champion Sam Houston State. Oral Roberts rounded out the top three with a 947.

Allie Knight paced the Blue Raiders with a final score of 232 (80-76-76, +16) as she finished tied for seventh. Olivia Love finished just three strokes behind at 235 (81-74-80, +19), tied for 10th.

After carding an 83 Monday, Avery George dropped nine strokes off her score in the next round for a 74 and finished with a 236 (83-74-79, +20). Ashley Haggard (80-84-76-240, +24) and Natalie Chrisopulos (86-80-79-245, +29) rounded out the scoring for Middle Tennessee.

The second place finish gives the Blue Raiders their best finish since winning the Blue Raider Invitational last October.

Middle Tennessee will be on the road in two weeks to compete in the UNCW Seahawk Classic at the River Landing Country Club in Wallace, North Carolina, April 6-7. This will be the last tournament before the Sun Belt Championships in Muscle Shoals, Ala., the following weekend.
