Raiders match best round of year at BancorpSouth Intercollegiate

Team tied for 6th; Denman cards a 68

MADISON, Miss. - Middle Tennessee shot two of its best rounds of the spring on Monday to tie for sixth at the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate. The Blue Raiders had rounds of 299-291 at the Reunion Golf and Country Club (par 72, 7,305 yards) and the 291 matched their best round of the year.

Mississippi State owns the overall lead with a 560 followed by Southeastern Louisiana in second at 574. Central Arkansas is third (575) and Chattanooga is fourth (576). Host Mississippi is in fifth with a 585, just five strokes ahead of the Blue Raiders.

Payne Denman is tied for 10th overall with a 143 total through 36 holes. Denman opened with a 75 before roaring back with a 4-under par 68 in the afternoon. Denman had six birdies during his second round, including one on both 17 and 18 to end his day.

Jordan Jennings is tied for 26th with a 148 after posting rounds of 77-71. Jennings had four birdies in his round of 71 to go with 13 pars.

Lucas Armstrong is tied for 40th with a 151 while Andrew Cho and Sam Thompson both carded a 152 and are tied for 47th.

The Blue Raiders will begin the final round on Tuesday morning.
