MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee held an early lead, but couldn't withstand WKU's offensive onslaught as the Blue Raiders fell, 6-1, to their Sun Belt Conference rival on Wednesday evening.
MT (4-30, 1-10 SBC) had just four hits in the game while WKU (20-11, 9-3 SBC) racked up11.
Early in the game, the Blue Raiders took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third, when Toney blasted her third home run of the season, just clearing the left field foul pole.
From there, however, it was all WKU as they scored two runs in the fourth, fifth and six innings for a total of six unanswered to clinch the win.
WKU's Emily Rousseau picked up win No. 11 on the season after striking out 10 Blue Raiders in a complete game.
Middle Tennessee is back in action this weekend for a three-game series with SBC foe South Alabama, April 7-8. First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
