ATLANTA - Middle Tennessee's Kortni Jones knocked down 11 points in the first round of the State Farm College Women's Basketball 3-point Championship on Thursday evening at Georgia Tech's McCamish Pavilion.
Jones, a senior for the Blue Raiders, hit 11 of 30 possible points, but unfortunately missed the cut for the second round by three points. Indiana's Aulani Sinclair won the competition.
The Blue Raiders were represented in front of a national audience, as Jones interacted with several of the nation's top athletes. The Oak Ridge product also had the chance to mingle with ESPN personalities Brad Nessler, Jimmy Dykes and Dan Dakich.
"I really enjoyed this experience," noted Jones. "I had so much fun and it was awesome to meet all of these great athletes, while representing Middle Tennessee."
Jones concluded her career at Middle Tennessee as the school's all-time record holder with 259 made triples. She amassed 1,361 points during her career. The 2013 SBC Tournament MVP helped the Blue Raiders to four NCAA Tournament appearances, along with four Sun Belt Conference titles.
