MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee softball team is set to host the University of South Alabama for a three game series beginning Saturday, April 6-7. Saturday will feature a doubleheader between the two squads beginning at 1 p.m.

Game 2 of the series will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.

The series finale will take place on Sunday with the first pitch at noon.

Middle Tennessee (4-30, 1-10) will look to get back on track in conference play when the Jaguars come to town this weekend.

South Alabama currently leads the all-time series 12-8. Relatively new to each other, the two squads have faced off in 20 games since 2007. The Blue Raiders haven't won since game one of a three game series in 2011.
Last time out, the Blue Raiders fell in a single game to conference rival WKU, 6-1, on Wednesday evening. Kayla Toney had MT's lone run of the game, a solo shot over the left field wall. The home run was her third of the season.

At the plate, Laura Dukes leads the Blue Raiders with a .300 batting average and seven home runs. Samantha Nieves is first on the team in hits (28) and doubles (seven).

South Alabama (31-7, 8-3) heads into the series after winning eight of their last ten matchups. The Jaguars are coming off a two game sweep of Florida Atlantic at home during a mid-week match-up.

Brittany Fowler leads the Jaguars at the plate batting .380 this year and has crushed seven home runs. Her .650 slugging percentage is also good for first on the team.
