Denman leads Raiders; Cho shoots even par

WEST POINT, Miss. - Middle Tennessee shot a final round 294 on Tuesday to finish 12th at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship. The Blue Raiders finished with a 911 total on the Old Waverly course (par 72, 7,088 yards).
Mississippi State won the event in a sudden death playoff over UAB on the first hole which was hole 18. Both teams finished with a 54-hole score of 867. South Alabama came in third with an 876 while SE Louisiana was fourth (880). Cincinnati rounded out the top five with an 888 total.
Payne Denman led the Blue Raiders with a 224 (77-74-73) to tie for 27th. Denman had two birdies and an eagle in his final round.
Jordan Jennings tied for 44th with a 229 and continued his late season consistency from the fifth spot. Jennings shot 75 in the final round and was even par through 14 holes.
Lucas Armstrong registered his best round of the tournament on Tuesday with a 74 for a 230 total. Armstrong tied for 52nd.
Andrew Cho carded the Blue Raiders' top round of the tournament with an even par 72 in Tuesday. Cho, who had five birdies on the day, tied for 63rd with a 232.
Sam Thompson completed the scoring with a 236 to tie for 68th.
The Blue Raiders will now turn their attention to the Sun Belt Championships on April 22-24 in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
