LAFAYETTE, La. - Middle Tennessee fell in both games of its doubleheader against Louisiana, dropping Game 1, 10-0 in five innings, and falling 6-3 in Game 2.

MT (5-36, 1-15 SBC) led the second game until the fifth inning, when a UL (29-11, 10-4 SBC) comeback sealed the contest.

In Game 1, the Blue Raiders had just 2 hits, both of which were singles by Samantha Nieves.

Nieves singled in the first with one out, but was stranded due to two straight strikeouts, and again in the fourth, where she reached second on a wild pitch, but was once again left on base.

Caitlin McClure (2-12) started the game, lasting just 2.1 innings before Ashley Stassin replaced her.  McClure allowed nine runs (five earned) seven hits.

MT's offensive production increased in the second game, as Laura Dukes went 2-for-4 to lead the team.  Nina Davenport was 2-for-3 in the game, while Nina Dever was 1-for-3 with two RBI.

UL held a 1-0 lead after the first, though MT would score three in the top of the third to capture the lead.

Davenport led off the inning with a single, and after a Brown sacrifice bunt, and Nieves ground ball, Dukes singled to right center, scoring Davenport.  Dever, then, blasted her third home run of the season to score Dukes, putting MT up, 3-1.

UL, however, would score three in the fifth to re-take the lead, and two in the sixth to put the game away.

Stassin started Game 2, but Jordyn Fisherback (3-17) took the loss after allowing three runs late runs.  She threw 1.2 innings before Stinnett came in close the game.

The teams finish their series tomorrow with a single-game, beginning at Noon.
