Blue Raiders ink agreement with 102.5 The Game

The Game to broadcast football, basketball and coaches shows

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee Director of Athletics Chris Massaro, Nelligan Sports Marketing, and the Cromwell Group announced today that WPRT 102.5 (Nashville) /97.5 (Murfreesboro) The Game will be the Nashville radio outlet for the Blue Raider Network beginning with the 2013-14 season. The agreement is a two-year deal with the option to renew for one more year.

The station will carry live all Blue Raider football and men's basketball games, along with the Rick Stockstill and Kermit Davis radio shows. The Rick Stockstill show will air on Monday nights from 7 PM - 8 PM, while the Kermit Davis show will be broadcast on Monday's at the same time after the start of the new year.

102.5 / 97.5 The Game is also the originating station for the Nashville Predators so any conflicts with Blue Raider football will move the MTSU game to 102.9 The Buzz. If there are any conflicts in men's basketball, then those games will be moved to 102.1 The Light.

The local flagship station for the Blue Raider Network will remain the WGNS family of signals on 1450 AM, 100.5 FM, and 101.9 FM. WMOT FM 89.5 will remain the originating station.

"We have always said we are middle Tennessee's team and this partnership with 102.5/97.5 will strengthen that even further, especially with our move to Conference USA," said Massaro. "The Nashville market is very important to our success because we have more alumni in the midstate area than any other university."

102.5 (Nashville) / 97.5 (Murfreesboro) The Game ESPN's all-sports radio station in Nashville covering the midstate area and is locally owned and operated by the Cromwell Group. The station can be heard in the Murfreesboro market on 97.5 FM.

The station is home for ESPN Radio including the very popular national shows Mike and Mike and The Herd with Colin Cowherd. From 6:00 to 9:00 AM fans can tune into the First Quarter with Greg Pogue, Joe Dubin, and Brad Hopkins. The Steve Gorman show is from Noon to 1:00pm followed by The Dave Ramsey show from 1:00 to 4:00pm and the very popular Sports Night show with George Plaster, Willy Daunic, and Darren McFarland airs from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

The first Blue Raider broadcast on 102.5 /97.5 will be on August 26 for the first Rick Stockstill Show, while the first game will be the football season opener on August 29 against Western Carolina.
