Blue Raiders host Lipscomb, Jacksonville State for mid-week games

Look to snap 10-game losing streak

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee will host Lipscomb and Jacksonville State for mid-week games, looking to snap a 10-game losing streak that has set the Blue Raiders back.

MT (5-43) will take on Lipscomb (27-21) in a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 24, beginning at 4 p.m., followed by a single game with Jacksonville St. (25-22) on Thursday, April 25 at 5 p.m.

Nina Dever, Samantha Nieves, Kayla Toney and Laura Dukes lead the Blue Raiders in nearly every offensive catagory, inluding multiple RBI games. 

Nieves and Dever each have four multi-RBI games, though Nieves has racked up a three and four-RBI performance.  Joining her on the four-RBI list is Laura Dukes, who has three total mult-RBI games.  Kayla Toney is the other Blue Raider with at least three multiple RBI games.

For LU, Brittany Elmore and Paige Neely lead the team at the plate. Elmore is hitting .349 with three triples and 28 stolen bases, while Neely has racked up 53 hits in 155 at-bats (.342), and eight doubles.  Gracey Aguirre leads the team with 13 dobules, while Kristen Sturdivant's 10 home runs are a team-best.

In the circle, Heather Parker is 11-11 with a 2.25 ERA and Tanner Sanders leads the team in wins (15-8).  The two pitchers have 118 and 112 strikeouts, respectively.

For the Gamecocks, three batters - Sara Borders, Krystal Ruth and Savannah Sloan - are hitting over .300, as Borders leads the team with 16 doubles and nine home runs.  Ruth has 14 doubles and 26 RBI, while Sloan is 44-for-141 on the season.

JSU's Tiffany Harbin has 24 starts on the year and has compiled an 13-11 record with a 3.36 ERA.
