MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee had three doubles, but couldn't limit Lipscomb's offense in a 10-3 non-conference loss on Wednesday evening at the Blue Raider Softball Field.

MT (5-44, 1-19 SBC) had five total hits on the game while Lipscomb (28-21, 14-7 A-Sun) racked up 15.

Kayla Toney returned to her 2012 form at the plate, launching a solo home run and a double in a 2-for-4 performance, leading the Blue Raiders and accounting for two of MT's three runs.

LaRi Mitchell and Katie Brown were each 1-for-2 in the game, as Brown had a RBI-double that scored Mitchell.

After working out of a jam in the first inning, Toney put MT in the lead, 1-0, blasting her fourth home run of the season over the right field fence.

Lipscomb then scored four in the second before the Blue Raiders answered with one of their own in the third. Toney doubled with one out in the inning, and after Laura Dukes walked, Niki Campbell smacked a two-out double to bring Toney home.

Down 9-2 in the sixth, MT tacked one more on the board, but couldn't come back any more. Mitchell reached on an error with one out in the inning, followed by Brown's fifth double of the year, which scored Mitchell.

Shelby Stinnett dropped to 0-12 on the year, allowing six runs (three earned) on nine hits in 4.0 innings pitched. From there, Caitlin McClure entered and threw 1.2 innings, allowing two other hits. Kailey McDougald closed out the game, throwing the final 1.1 and giving up one run.

The Blue Raiders return to competition Thursday for a single game with Jacksonville State, beginning at 5 p.m. at Blue Raider Field.
