MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee baseball team hits the road this weekend for a three-game series against Arkansas State at Tomlinson Stadium-Kell Field beginning Friday. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.

The Blue Raiders are coming off an 11-5 victory over Tennessee at Reese Smith Jr. Field on Tuesday night.

Jake Ellison led the Blue Raiders at the plate with his 3-for-4 performance, including his third home run of the season. MT's bullpen did not surrender a hit over the final seven innings and the Blue and White tallied 14 hits against their in-state SEC foe.

The Blue Raiders (23-20, 7-11 Sun Belt) currently lead the all-time series with Arkansas State, 24-14. The Red Wolves (22-19, 8-10 SBC), however, have taken six of the last seven, including last year's 12-1 decision in the conference tournament.

Johnathan Frebis (5-4) will get the start for game one on Friday and will look to make up for the rough outing he had a week ago against FIU. Frebis lasted just 2.1 innings giving up nine runs, all of which were earned, on nine hits while striking out four. He carries a 4.74 ERA into game one of the series.

Hunter Adkins (4-5) gets the nod for game two. Last time out, Adkins went four innings and gave up five runs, all earned, on eight hits and struck out just one. He holds a 4.55 ERA.

Zac Curtis (5-3) heads to the hill for the Sunday finale and is coming off a solid performance against FIU where the junior went seven innings and gave up just one earned run on five hits and struck out five to earn the win. Curtis' 51 strikeouts this season are a team-high and he carries a 5.13 ERA.

Ryan Stephens continues to hold down the top spot at the plate this year with a .331 average. He has reached base safely in 35 of the last 37 games.

The Red Wolves are coming off an 11-1 loss to No. 16 Ole Miss on Tuesday night. Last weekend, Arkansas State took two of three from ULM.

Ace pitcher Daniel Wright (4-3) gets the start for game one for the Red Wolves and brings a 2.69 ERA into the matchup. Wright currently leads the team with 73 strikeouts this year. Game two will see Bradley Wallace (4-1) on the hill, who carries a 3.19 ERA into the contest. Sunday's starter is TBA.

The leader at the plate this year for ASU is outfielder Ryan Emery with his .322 batting average. Emery has a team-high 25 RBI on 46 hits. His .406 slugging percentage is also good for first on the team.
