NEW ORLEANS - After winning the Penn Relays' high jump event for the second year in a row, Middle Tennessee's Ann Dudley was named the Sun Belt Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Dudley, a senior from Jacksonville, Fla., tied her personal best mark of 1.84 meters in the outdoor competition. She previously hit that mark at the 2012 Penn Relays.
In addition to tying the personal best mark, Dudley tied the SBC's regular season height (previously set by Dudley in 2012), and was the first Blue Raider to win two individual titles at the Penn Relays.
Dudley's jump of six feet, one-half inch is the fourth highest jump of any NCAA female competitor this season, and No. 1 in the Sun Belt by .02 meters (two inches).
The Blue Raiders are off this weekend before they head to Miami, Fla., for the 2013 SBC Outdoor Championships, May 10-12.
