Miller earns TSWA Player of the Week honor

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee first baseman Trent Miller has been named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Player of the Week. He is the first Blue Raider to earn a weekly honor from the organization this year.
Miller batted .471 (8-for-17) and slugged. 1.059 with one double, three homers and eight RBI in four contests for the Blue Raiders last week. The Kansas City, Mo., native hit a pair of homers and drove in three runs in a 7-6 win at Tennessee, the club's second victory over the Vols in a week.
In the three-game series at No. 20 South Alabama, the junior collected six hits and five RBI. He was 5-for-6 with a double, home run, five RBI and three runs scored in game one against the Jaguars, becoming the first Blue Raider with five hits in a game since 2010. The five RBI were also a career-best.
Miller is batting .285 this season with 15 doubles, seven homers, 41 RBI and 30 runs scored while starting all 50 contests.
The Blue Raiders play their final six games of the regular season at home, hosting ULM this weekend and WKU May 16-18.
