MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former Blue Raider guard Marcos Knight is already making a name for himself at the next level, experiencing his first NBA workout with the Brooklyn Nets last week.

"It was a good workout and good competition," Knight said. "I performed really well and learned a lot. It was a good experience. Just putting on the NBA gear and being in the NBA locker room was a dream come true. I also got to meet (Nets guard) Deron Williams."

A two-time all-conference selection at Middle Tennessee, Knight spent two days working out at the Nets' practice facility in New Jersey in front of coaches from various NBA teams, including the Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves. The first day included agility work, including vertical and shuttle tests and measuring weight, height and wingspan. Day two consisted of about half an hour of skill development followed by five-on-five games.

"We had some really good, competitive games," Knight said. "The coaches said our group was the best in two days, so it was good hearing that from them. I got a lot of good feedback from that workout."

MT's leading scorer last year, Knight spent the majority of his time playing point guard during the two-day workout. Although he rarely played point for the Blue Raiders, it was not an unfamiliar position for Knight as he spent time at the one throughout high school and into junior college.

"I worked really hard on point guard skills in the offseason," Knight said. "I felt I was really prepared because a lot of guys were tired, but I didn't really get tired. I felt like I was well-prepared for everything that we did."

Knight is currently exploring further NBA workout possibilities and hopes to join a summer league team later this year. Stay tuned to GoBlueRaiders.com to follow Knight's career.
