MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's Kate Loye collected another preseason accolade this week with her selection to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-Conference USA First Team.

Loye was named to the C-USA Preseason Players to Watch list as announced by the league last week.

"It's always great for our players and program to be recognized by groups outside the league," said head coach Aston Rhoden. "We look forward to competing in C-USA and against such talented players and coaches."

The sophomore was voted 2012 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and earned All-Sun Belt first team honors as voted by the league's coaches. A product of Hamilton, New Zealand, Loye recorded seven goals and six assists in just 17 games.

Of Loye's 50 shots, 22 were on goal (.440). Loye started 17 games for the Blue Raiders and played a complete match 10 times. She arrived to campus late in the 2012 season due to representing New Zealand in the U-20 World Cup.

Rice's Holly Hargreaves was selected as C-USA Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, while Kate Scheele earned Preseason Defensive Player of the Year accolades.
