MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee soccer team (0-1-2) scored its first goal of the 2013 season Sunday night in a 3-1 loss to Memphis (3-1-0) at Hayes Stadium.

The Blue Raiders jumped out front early, taking a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute, when a pass from Rachael Figg found the foot of Kate Loye at the top of box. This marked MT's first goal of season as the team has been scoreless in two matches and two exhibitions.

Memphis answered back in the 33rd minute as Valerie Sanderson netted the equalizer with assistance from Christabel Oduro. The goal was Sanderson's second of the season.

The teams went into the locker room at the intermission with the contest knotted up at 1-1 as MT's Kelsey Brouwer snagged four saves in the opening period, while Memphis keeper Maryse Bard-Martel had two.
