MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former Middle Tennessee women's basketball standout Kortni Jones inked a professional contract with CSM Satu Mare of the Romanian League last week.
Jones, a native of Oak Ridge, Tenn., completed her four years at Middle Tennessee earlier this spring. She concluded her career as the school's all-time record holder with 259 made triples. She amassed 1,361 points during her time at MT, which ranks 15th best in program history.
The 2013 Sun Belt Tournament MVP helped the Blue Raiders to four NCAA Tournament appearances, along with four SBC Conference titles. Jones also became the first Middle Tennessee women's basketball player to compete in the prestigious State Farm 3-Point Championships.
CSM Satu Mare was founded in 2007 and is a member of the Romanian League. The club also competes in the FIBA EuroCup.
Jones joins three other Raiders who are currently playing professionally. MT assistant coach Alysha Clark is in the midst of the WNBA season with the Seattle Storm. Chrissy Givens, who played for defending Romanian League Champion ICIM Arad last season, recently signed a contract with Sony Athinaikos in Greece. Amber Holt played in 2013 with UNIQA Euroleasing Sopron (Hungary).
