MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Emily Jorgenson of the Middle Tennessee soccer team was named to the College Soccer 360 Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the organization Wednesday.

This is the first such honor for Jorgenson and second for the Blue Raiders as Kate Loye received the recognition last season.

Jorgenson helped lead a Blue Raider defense that posted two shutouts last weekend, including a 1-0 victory over Tennessee Sept. 13. The defender netted the game-winning goal during the third minute of the contest off of a set play, setting the tone for the rest of the contest and putting the Lady Volunteers on their heels. Amalie Anderdal had a free kick to the left of the box off of a UT foul and her pass found Jorgenson cutting in front of the net.

The Overland Park, Kan., native's shot went past a diving UT goalkeeper, snapping a 331-minute shutout streak for the Lady Volunteers. The goal was Jorgenson's first of the year and Anderdal's first assist on the season.

Jorgenson anchored a defense that allowed just three shots on goal against a Tennessee team that was receiving votes in a national poll and had scored 11 goals on the young season. The MT victory also snapped a four match winning-streak for the Lady Vols.

The Blue Raiders recorded it second-straight shutout Sept. 15 with a 3-0 win over Tennessee Tech to sweep the weekend against in-state foes. Jorgenson helped lead a defense that allowed just one shot on goal for the Golden Eagles.

Jorgenson and the rest of the Blue Raiders return to action Friday, Sept. 20, hosting Alabama A&M at 7 p.m.
