Raiders return to the hardwood Sunday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee women's basketball opens the 2013-14 season with the first practice of the season scheduled for late Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Raiders are coming off a 25-8 season in 2012-13, which resulted in Sun Belt regular season and tournament titles. MT then made its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 10 years, falling to eventual finalist Louisville.
Coach Rick Insell's squad returns nine letterwinners combined with four freshmen and a transfer that will play this season.
Practice opens Sunday at 4 p.m. on the main floor of the Murphy Center. MT then is scheduled to practice on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week. All practices are open to the public.
Middle Tennessee opens the 2013-14 campaign with a pair of exhibition games on Oct. 29 and Nov. 1 before hosting the Tennessee Lady Vols on Nov. 8 inside the Murphy Center.
Season tickets are now on sale for $100. The package of 15 games, includes visits from nationally-ranked foes Tennessee (Nov. 8) and Kentucky (Nov. 24). Fans can also purchase a combo pack, which includes men's and women's season tickets, for a discounted rate of $199. Single-game tickets will go on sale Oct. 1 with the exception of the women's contest versus Tennessee. All season ticket holders and Blue Raider Athletic Association (BRAA) members can submit additional Tennessee ticket requests now by contacting the Blue Raider ticket office at 615-898-5261. Tickets for that game will be $22.
All BRAA Members will have First Priority to purchase additional basketball game tickets for the Tennessee game on Friday, Nov. 8. Ticket benefits are determined by your BRAA membership as of Oct. 1 of this calendar year. Next Level Club members that are not BRAA members will be considered in the second priority option.
