CHATTANOOGA - Freshman Aaron Jumonville fell in the Flight 2 championship of the UTC Steve Baras Invite on Sunday, after taking three straight matches in straight sets to get to the final.

Jumonville, the No. 1 seed in Flight 2 singles, opened up the weekend with a straight-set victory (6-1, 6-2) over Chattanooga's Marcos Morelli. In the quarterfinals, the Blue Raider freshman downed Eastern Kentucky's Florian Graskamp (6-4, 6-3) before besting Lipscomb's Stuart Tierney in the semifinals (6-3, 6-3).

The win over Tierney set up Jumonville for a final against the No. 3 seed, Lipscomb's Daniel Hernandez, who defeated Jumonville in straight sets (6-2, 6-3).

Junior Yannick Born also took part in the event at Chattanooga in Flight 1 singles. Born defeated Tennessee Tech's Alex Arovin (6-2, 7-5), before falling to No. 1 seed Elliot Barmwell of Samford in the quarterfinals (7-5, 6-4).

Jumonville and Born teamed up in Flight 1 doubles as the No. 1 seed, defeating Borja Cortez and Guilherme Gesser of Abilene Christian, 8-6. The Blue Raider duo would be knocked off in the semifinals by ETSU's Sebastian Yllera and Ricardo Pabon.
