Middle Tennessee baseball caps the fall season with the annual Blue-White World Series, which begins this Saturday, Oct. 19 at Reese Smith Field.

This year, the Blue Raiders will play five games in the annual fall series. It all starts on Saturday when the two squads square off at Noon. Game two is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, while game three is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday. The Blue-White World Series closes out next Friday, Oct. 25 (3 p.m.) and Saturday, Oct. 26 (Noon).

All five games will have an Internet only broadcast and live stats available at GoBlueRaiders.com.

This season brings a lot of new faces to the Blue Raider roster as 16 make their debut with Middle Tennessee. Returning for his second year, head coach Jim McGuire's team returns a perfect complement of hitting and pitching back from last season.

From a pitching perspective, MT will have a strong lineup of lefties with Zac Curtis and Johnathan Frebis. Paul Mittura will headline the relieving corps for the Blue Raiders this season. Leading slugger Ryan Stephens returns after recording a .329 average in 56 games. Trent Miller also returns after recording a team-best 28 extra-base hits and 50 RBIs in 2013.

Several Blue Raiders had strong summer seasons as a total of eight MT student-athletes garnered accolades in their respective collegiate leagues.

"We've had a good fall so far," said McGuire. "The Blue-White World Series is a great way to let our players finish out the season in a competitive manner. I encourage all of our fans to come out and watch our 2014 Blue Raiders."

Admission to the contests are free and open to the public. A full roster for the Blue and White team will be posted on GoBlueRaiders.com Friday afternoon.
