CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee finished a crisp-fall morning second in both the men's and women's races at the UTC Front Runner Invitational. The Blue Raiders placed six runners in the top-10, including a second, third and fourth place finish for the men's race.

The MT men narrowly missed a first-place finish Saturday afternoon, falling to host Chattanooga 48-38, yet fielded great individual results.

"We ran very well," said Head Coach Dean Hayes. "I was really proud of them, they did a really good job."

Shadrack Matelong was the top-finisher for the men's team, completing the 5K race in 15:01.63. Eliud Rutto and Silas Taiget ran closely behind Matelong for second and third with times of 15:08.37 and 15:10.94, respectively.

Alden Dixon finished 16th with a time of 15:36.28. Keith Davis, completing his first race of 2013, placed 27th with a time of 16:10.89.
