Middle Tennessee closes out its exhibition slate with NAIA foe Freed-Hardeman on Friday, Nov. 1 with a 6:30 p.m. tipoff inside the Murphy Center.
The Blue Raiders are coming off a 77-60 victory over UAH on Tuesday. Ebony Rowe led the Raiders with a double-double, tallying 24 points and corralling 18 rebounds in 33 minutes. Junior Shanice Cason also reached double-digits with 14 points. Veterans Caroline Warden and KeKe Stewart also chipped in with seven and six points, respectively.
Middle Tennessee's defense stifled the Lady Chargers, forcing UAH to shoot 27 percent and commit 25 turnovers on the evening.
Freed-Hardeman enters Friday's game after losing a 68-57 exhibition matchup to Lipscomb on Monday evening. The Lady Lions have reached the Fab Four three times in the past five seasons, including last year.
The defending TranSouth Champions are No. 6 in the NAIA Preseason Coaches Poll. The Lady Lions went 34-2 in 2012-13 and advanced to the NAIA Fab Four at the national tournament.
Juniors Grace Alonso de Armino and Amber Alexander are the team's returning starters, although Alexander is expected to be out until Christmas as she recovers from an injury.
Two Lady Lions recorded double-doubles in their exhibition opener versus Lipscomb. de Armino tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds, while junior Hayley Newby posted a team-best 16 points and 11 boards.
Friday's game is the final tuneup before the Blue Raiders open the season next Friday, Nov. 8 against No. 4 Tennessee at the Murphy Center. The contest with the Lady Vols is slated as the "Blue Out" game for the 2013-14 season.
