MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - With the Middle Tennessee men's basketball season tipping off Sunday against Southern University at 4 p.m. inside the Murphy Center, Jacquez Rozier caught up with GoBlueRaiders.com to talk about the upcoming season.

The Blue Raiders are fresh off a successful 2012-13 campaign that saw Middle Tennessee post a program-best 28-6 overall mark and a school record 19-1 in conference play, after winning the Sun Belt Conference regular season championship for the second-straight year.

The Blue Raiders are looking forward to the possibility of breaking more records in 2013-2014 as they return eight players from last year's squad that reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1989 and seventh time in program history.

Among those returning for MT this season is senior Jacquez Rozier. The 6-7 forward sat down to discuss the upcoming season and to give fans an inside scoop on one of their favorite Blue Raiders.

THE UPCOMING SEASON...

What are you most looking forward to for the season?
"Mostly playing in the new conference and applying what we've worked on in practice into the game."

How have practices been coming along?
"They've been good. I think that we're becoming better as a team. The older guys are really teaching the newer guys and taking on that role of leadership that we lost with the seniors that graduated last year."

Is there a particular team that you are looking forward to playing?
"No particular team in mind. I'm just looking forward to good competition basically."

Do you have a personal goal for the season?
"Just to get better as a team and play better as a team. Personally, I'm trying to rebound better."

Do you have a favorite MT tradition?
"When we come out to the band at games. That's pretty big. It gets you pumped for the game."

AND JUST FOR FUN...

If you could have dinner with any famous person, who would it be?
"LeBron James. He's my favorite basketball player because of his work ethic and how he plays the game."
