MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Three Blue Raiders tallied double-digit kill totals in the Middle Tennessee volleyball team's four-set victory over Florida Atlantic on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Memorial Gym. In the win, the Blue Raiders improve to 17-10 and 8-4 in Conference USA, while the Owls fall to 11-15 and 3-9 in C-USA.

MT dropped the first set, 25-22, despite hitting .294 in the opening stanza. Florida Atlantic controlled throughout the majority of the set, taking a 6-5 advantage and holding the lead for the remainder of the set. Hervey had seven kills in the set to lead all players.

The Blue Raiders answered back in the second set, taking a 25-19 decision to even the match at 1-1. MT never trailed in the frame, taking a 6-1 lead and holding off an Owls team fighting for a C-USA Volleyball Championship berth. MT hit .303 in the set, with Hervey and sophomore Rachel Shaughnessy each tallying four kills in the set.

Florida Atlantic hit a blistering .394 in the third set, but was outdueled by a remarkably efficient .429 clip from Middle Tennessee. MT was tested by a battling Florida Atlantic team in the fourth set, trailing 15-12 before rattling off six straight points for an 18-15 advantage. The Owls would bounce back and bring the Blue Raiders to set point at 24-23 before MT put FAU away with a Marshall kill, an Owls attack error and a Shaughnessy block to close the door on a Florida Atlantic comeback. MT took the fourth and final set, 26-24.
