MURFREESBORO - Hoyeong Kim, who owns seven top 10 finishes this year, has signed a scholarship agreement with the Middle Tennessee men's golf program as announced by Head Coach Whit Turnbow on Wednesday.
Kim, from Bradenton, FL and IMG Academy, won the IMG Junior Golf Tour event at Grande Pines earlier this year and owns an AJGA scoring average of 73.6.
Originally from Jin Ju City, South Korea, Kim was seventh at the Southwest Florida Junior and ninth at the AJGA Under Armour Championship (74-77-68).
He also turned in a 14th place finish at the Optimist International Junior and was 16th at the AJGA Rome Junior Classic (76-70-66).
"Hoyeong is a great fit for Middle Tennessee," said Turnbow. "He is a tireless worker, great student, and really wanted to be a part of our program. His best golf is in front of him and I can't wait to get him here next fall. Jordon Mott and the entire staff at IMG do a tremendous job preparing these kids for the the next level. Hoyeong is no exception as he is ready for the next step."
