MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee women's golf team and head coach Chris Adams announced the signing of Jenna Burris to the 2014-15 recruiting class Wednesday afternoon.

Burris is the only recruit for the Blue Raiders to sign during the early signing period, which opened Nov. 13 and closes Nov. 20. The Manchester, Tenn., native is a senior at St. Andrew's-Sewanee School in Sewanee, Tenn.

She played in the 2012 and 2013 Tennessee Junior Cup, winning Most Valuable Player honors in 2013. Burris was a quarterfinalist in 2012 in the Women's State Amateur Championship. She finished fourth in the TSSAA State Tournament in 2012 and then claimed third-place honors in the event a year later. In 2012, Burris was named the TaylorMade/Adidas TGA Junior Tour Player of the Year. She has won tournaments, while playing on the AAJGT, USJGT and TGA tours.

"Jenna Burris is a very strong, talented and competitive golfer, who will bring a great work ethic to Middle Tennessee," Adams said. "She comes from a wonderful family and I am very excited about signing Jenna. I don't doubt she will come in and make an impact early and the transition to college golf will be an easy one for her with her long length and golf knowledge. She is the lone signee at this point to go with a pretty young and talented squad with only one graduating senior this year."

The Blue Raiders return to action March 3-5, traveling to Miami to play in the Hurricane Invitational.
