MURFREESBORO - Former Middle Tennessee star running back Bennie Cunningham had a day to remember for the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.
Cunningham entered the game just before halftime to take over for an injured Zac Stacy and truly made the most of his opportunity. The Goodpasture High School product rushed 13 times for 109 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Rams to a convincing, 42-21, win over the Chicago Bears. Ironically, that was the same score his alma mater had in Saturday's win at Southern Miss to give them a bowl clinching seventh victory.
Following the game, Cunningham was presented the game ball for his efforts.
Along with Cunningham, former Blue Raiders Erik Walden, Phillip Tanner, and Jamari Lattimore are also competing in the NFL. Walden's Colts lost at Arizona, while Tanner and the Dallas Cowboys took down the Giants. Lattimore and the Packers tied the Vikings.
