T&F take six to Music City Challenge

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee track and field teams will take six athletes to compete at the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn., Dec. 3 at 5 p.m.
The six Blue Raiders include Junior Cadet and Cordairo Golden for the men, and India Hammond, Jessica Howell, Barbara Vilson and Pershawna Williams for the women.
Middle Tennessee will primarily work through the field events. Golden and Cadet each will participate in the high jump, an event that Golden placed in the top-10 four times in 2012-13.
For the women, Hammond and Howell are scheduled to compete in the high jump, women's 60-meter hurdles and the shot put. Vilson will participate in the high jump and shot put, while Williams will work the high jump and triple jump. Williams placed in the top-5 four times in the high jump last season, including a first place finish at the Valentine Invitational, clearing 5-3.00 (1.60m).
Other scheduled teams include the Memphis men and women, Tennessee men and women, Carson-Newman women, Belmont men and women, Tennessee State men and women, Western Kentucky men and women and Vanderbilt men and women.
Following the meet at Vanderbilt, Middle Tennessee will host the Christmas Invitational Saturday, Dec. 7 in the Murphy Center, the lone meet in Murfreesboro.
