Kilgore named TSWA Player of Week

Senior passes for 325 yards and two scores in victory

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's Logan Kilgore has been named the Offensive Player of the Week by the Tennessee Sportswriters Association for his effort in Saturday's win over UTEP.

Kilgore completed 19-of-27 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns in the Blue Raiders' 48-17 victory over the Miners on Senior Day. He tossed a 21-yard scoring strike to Marcus Henry on the opening possession of the game and added a 25-yard scoring pass to Tavarres Jefferson late in the second quarter, as Middle Tennessee scored the game's first 24 points and led 34-7 at the half.

The Rocklin, Calif., native posted his fourth career 300-yard passing game and became the first player in school history to throw for 2,000 or more yards in three consecutive seasons. He registered 2,231 passing yards in 2011, 2,571 yards in 2012 and now has 2,289 yards in 2013. Kilgore also surpassed Clint Marks for second place on the school's all-time passing yardage list.

The Blue Raiders completed the regular season with an 8-4 record to become the first team to record back-to-back eight win seasons since 1991 and 1992. The team now awaits there bowl destination which should be known no later than Sunday.
