LEXINGTON, Ky. - Middle Tennessee volleyball redshirt-sophomore Tyler Richardson has added another accolade to her impressive second season on the court for the Blue Raiders, earning AVCA All-Region honors for 2013.

Richardson ranks 13th in the nation in hitting percentage at .414, a mark that led Conference USA. Richardson was second in the conference in blocks per set at 1.18. The AVCA honor adds to a first-team All-Conference USA selection for Richardson in November and a Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week award in September.

The Michigander was named to the South Region team along with 13 others, with 10 of the 14 players on the list coming from SEC schools. The other three All-Region honorees hail from Atlantic Sun teams. Richardson was one of six Conference USA players on an all-region team, joining two players from Tulane and one each from Tulsa, UTEP and UTSA who made the Southwest Region team. The award is the 11th AVCA All-Region award all-time for a Blue Raider and 10th since 2006.
