Rowe grabs third C-USA Player of the Week honor

IRVING, Texas - For the third time this season, Middle Tennessee's Ebony Rowe was tabbed the Conference USA Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Rowe had game highs of 28 points and 14 rebounds in Middle Tennessee's 84-53 victory over Tennessee Tech on Jan. 2. She shot a season-best 83.3 percent, knocking down 10-of-12 attempts from the field. The Lexington, Ky., native also had eight free throws and dished out a season-high five assists in the Blue Raiders' 10th straight win.
The senior has notched a league-best 11 double-doubles this season, while totaling 64 in her career. Her eight made free throws versus the Golden Eagles moved her to third all-time with 436 and she currently ranks second on MT's career list 2,042 points, 106 shy of reaching record holder Kim Webb.
This season, Rowe is averaging 23.1 points and 11.6 rebound per game while shooting a team-best 57.2 percent (123-of-215) from the field over 14 games. This is her third C-USA Player of the week honor as Rowe also earned the award Dec. 2 and Dec. 23. The senior now has a school record 14 conference player of the week honors during her four-year tenure.
Middle Tennessee plays in its first C-USA game this Wednesday, Jan. 8 against old Sun Belt foe North Texas. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT inside the Murphy Center.
