MURFREESBORO - Middle Tennessee seniors Jimmy Staten and Sammy Seamster have been invited to compete in the 2014 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on January 18. The game will be played at StubHub Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, Calif.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised live on ESPN2.

Staten and Seamster arrived in California earlier this week to begin practice and receive an in-depth introduction to the union - the primary resource for information on the business of football and how to succeed in the NFL and in post-football careers.

Staten, an honorable mention All-C-USA pick this past season, played in 49 career games and totaled 100 tackles as a Blue Raider. Staten (6-4, 301), a defensive tackle, started 35 times.

Seamster (6-1, 208), out of Ooltewah, Tenn., played in 44 career games and was also a valuable member of special teams.

Both are playing for the American Team that will be coached by Denny Green.
