Raiders' Jones named C-USA Freshman of the Week

IRIVING, Texas - Middle Tennessee's Olivia Jones was tabbed the Conference USA Freshman of the Week for her performances against UTEP UAB.
The Murfreesboro native averaged 15.5 points and 10.0 rebounds, while picking up seven steals and five assists in the two contests.
Jones anchored her first career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds in MT's 69-58 win over UTEP. She made 5-of-8 field goals. Jones dished out three assists and grabbed three steals against the Miners.
The freshman followed up that performance with 14 points and nine rebounds at UAB Saturday. Jones also had four steals, a block and two assists in 40 minutes of action. This season Jones is averaging 9.3 points and 6.9 rebounds in 18 contests.
This is Jones' first C-USA Freshman of the Week honor. Middle Tennessee returns to action on Wednesday by hosting UTSA in a 7 p.m. contest.
