NASHVILLE - The No. 56 Middle Tennessee men's tennis team will play the first of four matches in eight days on Sunday when the Blue Raiders make the short trip up I-24 to Nashville to square off with No. 20 Vanderbilt, with the first serve slated for noon.

Middle Tennessee looks to get back on track after falling to No. 26 South Carolina in the Palmetto State late Sunday, coming up just short in a 4-3 final. Sophomore David Fox had an outstanding showing against the Gamecocks, joining fellow Victor Cornea to help the Blue Raiders to the doubles point in a showdown of top-25 doubles tandems before knocking off No. 41 Tsvetan Mihov in singles play.

Junior Ettore Zito has been a staple at No. 2 singles for the Blue Raiders so far this spring, sporting an unblemished 3-0 mark. Cornea and freshman Aaron Jumonville are also above .500 in singles play, with each holding a 2-1 record.

Sunday begins a challenging eight-day stretch for the Blue Raiders. On Friday, MT will travel to No. 33 VCU before hosting a pair of matches on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Nashboro Village: vs. No. 30 Northwestern (10 a.m.) and Tennessee State (6 p.m.).
