Rowe and Jones sweep weekly C-USA honors

Duo helped Blue Raiders remain atop league standings

IRVING, Texas - Middle Tennessee's Ebony Rowe was tabbed Conference USA Player of the Week and Olivia Jones garnered Freshman of the Week accolades, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Rowe boasted 27.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in Middle Tennessee's road victories at FIU and Florida Atlantic last week. The Lexington, Ky., product shot 63 percent (19-of-30) from the field, while dishing out seven assists and collecting two steals in two contests.

Rowe collected 23 points and 12 rebounds, handing out a season-high five assists in the win at FIU. She went 10-of-17 from for 58.8 percent shooting. Against Florida Atlantic, Rowe belted out a season-best 32 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. She hit 14 of her 32 points from the free throw line. Her six points down the stretch, including a last-second layup with 40 seconds remaining put away the game for the Blue Raiders. Rowe made 9-of-13 from the field for 69.3 percent shooting.

Rowe's two double-doubles last week, matches her career-best of 21 double-doubles in a season she set last year. The All-America candidate leads Middle Tennessee 21.8 points and 11.4 rebounds through 25 games this season. This is Rowe's fourth C-USA Player of the Week honor and the 15th conference honor in her four-year career.

The freshman Jones boasted 13 points and 7.5 rebounds in the Raiders' two road wins. She went 5-of-10 from the field with 12 points and two rebounds at FIU. The freshman followed up that performance with her second career double-double, scoring 14 points and pulling in 13 rebounds in 34 minutes. Jones completed her statline with three assists and a steal.

This season, Jones is averaging 8.9 points per game and ranks second on the team with 7.0 rebounds each contest. Monday's accolade is the second for Jones.

Middle Tennessee (21-4, 10-1 C-USA) hosts Marshall on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. inside the Murphy Center. Charlotte visits Murfreesboro on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. in an FSN televised broadcast.
