CHATTANOOGA, TENN. - Toledo (3-7) scored one run in the bottom of the sixth to defeat Middle Tennessee (4-11) 4-3 to finish the Frost Classic Sunday. The Blue Raiders leave Chattanooga with an 0-5 record through the three day tournament.

Caitlin McClure started inside the circle for the Blue Raiders, pitching 4.2 innings while allowing three earned runs with two strikeouts. Shelby Stinnett (1-5) pitched the final 1.1 innings and surrendered four hits and the go-ahead run on a bases loaded single in the sixth.

Middle Tennessee started off the scoring in the top of the first. LaRi Mitchell hit a leadoff single to left field and stole second. After two back-to-back strike outs by the next MT batters, Laura Dukes laced a single, which plated Mitchell for her sixth RBI of the tournament.

Toledo added two runs in the bottom half of one and another in the second to take the 3-1 lead. Neither team scored in the third with MT going down 1-2-3 and Toledo having four batters come to the plate, hitting a lone single.

To start the top of four, Cheyenne Willis received the opening walk and Nina Dever reached on a throwing error by the pitcher. After a Shadley walk the Blue Raiders had the bases loaded and no outs. Freshman Austyn Whaley slugged a double to right center, plating both Willis and Dever to knot the game at 3-all.

After a scoreless fifth inning, Toledo loaded the bases for the second inning in a row. Stinnett worked her way out of the jam in the fifth but could not make the same magic that she did an inning before. UT's Jessica Lemieux hit a one-out go-ahead single up the middle to give the Rockets the 4-3 advantage. Middle Tennessee went down 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh to complete the Frost Classic winless.

Dukes finished the Frost Classic with a team-high .500 batting average after finishing 8-for-16 at the plate with three doubles and six RBI. Kayla Toney went 4-for-19 at the plate and was second behind Dukes with five RBI.
