The Middle Tennessee men's and women's tennis teams return to action on Friday with a match against Jackson State. Both matches are set to begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Complex
The Blue Raiders (5-3) are coming off a tough 5-2 loss to Louisiana Tech. The Raiders are led in singles action by Tiffany William. The junior holds a perfect 8-0 record this season. Nayara Moraes follows with a 6-2 mark on the year. The doubles tandem of Moraes and Irina Constantinide hold a team-best 5-2 mark.
Jackson State and the Raiders square off for the first time. This is also the Blue Raiders' first ever opponent from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). After MT's match with the Tigers, the Raiders embark on a three-match road trip in South Florida with stops against Boston University, Barry University and Florida Atlantic.
"This weekend will be a good start to a week full of strong matches," said head coach Shelley Godwin. "We have been making progress each match with the way we compete and need to continue moving forward starting Friday."
