Raiders to host Memphis on Sunday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee men's tennis team defeated Jackson State, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at Buck Bouldin Tennis Complex. With the win, the Blue Raiders move to 3-8 on the spring.

The Blue Raiders won all eight matches that were completed on the day, with four singles matches being captured in straight sets. The most convincing victory of the day was by junior Ettore Zito at No. 1 singles, who recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win. Sophomore David Fox, sophomore Victor Cornea, and freshman Sam Matheson won in straight sets at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles, while freshman Aaron Jumonville and junior Yannick Born won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

Fox and Cornea won 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, while Born and Jumonville took No. 2 doubles, 6-1. The No. 3 doubles match went unfinished.

The Blue Raiders return to action on Sunday when they host Memphis at 11 a.m. at Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.
