Raiders fall to TCU, 4-3

Zito knocks off nationally-ranked opponent at No. 1 singles

FORT WORTH, Texas - The Middle Tennessee men's tennis team fell to No. 43 TCU, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth. In the defeat, the Blue Raiders fall to 4-10 on the spring.

Junior Ettore Zito picked up a win at No. 1 singles over the Horned Frogs' Nick Chappell, ranked No. 54 in the country in singles play. The Blue Raiders also received a win at No. 4 singles from junior Victor Hoang and at No. 6 from freshman Sam Matheson.

The two teams split the six singles matches on the day, with the Horned Frogs taking the doubles point by winning the two completed matches.

The Blue Raiders return to action on Thursday when they host Austin Peay at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
