Blue Raiders at Tulane for three-game series

NEW ORLEANS - The Middle Tennessee baseball team (8-11, 4-2 C-USA) travels to New Orleans for a three-game weekend series at Tulane (10-10, 3-3 C-USA.)
The Blue Raiders look to extend a three-game conference winning streak, having swept a C-USA series vs. Charlotte last weekend. Middle Tennessee fell Tuesday at Lipscomb, 9-3.
Senior LHP Zac Curtis will start Friday for the Blue Raiders. MT is 5-0 in Curtis' starts this year, including three late-inning wins over Kennesaw State, UAB and Charlotte.
Senior 1B Trent Miller was named TSWA Player of the Week after hitting .563 during last week's play vs. Tennessee and Charlotte. Miller went 6-for-8 in Saturday's doubleheader with six RBI, and is hitting .384 on the year.
Tulane is looking to snap a four-game losing streak, having lost two C-USA games to East Carolina over the weekend before falling in midweek contests to Southeastern Louisiana and New Orleans on Tuesday and Wednesday.
As a team, the Green Wave are hitting .244, while they have recorded a 3.74 ERA through 20 games.
All three games will be broadcast on the Blue Raider Network on 92.5 WMOT2 and at goblueraiders.com with Miles McQuiggan on the call.

MILLER NAMED TSWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior 1B Trent Miller was named TSWA Player of the Week after hitting .563 (9-for-16) with three doubles, a home run and six RBI in four gamers. Miller went 8-for-12 in three C-USA games vs. Charlotte.
MT has scored 8.4 runs per game in the first five starts of the year for senior LHP Zac Curtis, winning all of them. Curtis earned wins against Dayton (Feb. 21) and Kent State (Feb. 28), while getting no-decisions at Kennesaw State (Feb. 15), at UAB (March 7) and vs. Charlotte (March 14).
START ME UP
Senior RHP Paul Mittura - the Blue Raiders' all-time saves leader - started the first game of Saturday's doubleheader vs. Charlotte, giving MT seven innings of two-run ball in a 6-2 win over the 49ers. It was the first win since 2012 for Mittura, who has four saves on the season.

The Blue Raiders will take on the Bisons for the second time in eight days when MT hosts Lipscomb on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Bisons defeated the Blue Raiders this past Tuesday in Nashville, 9-3.
