KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Four Middle Tennessee relay teams placed in the top-five to conclude the final day of the Tennessee Relays Saturday.

"The weather was nice and we got in some pretty good performances," said head coach Dean Hayes. "We were happy with the men's and women's 4x400-meter relay and the women's 4x100-meter. It was solid, both yesterday and today, and the weather was nice so that was helpful."

The men's 4x400-meter team of Andre Hamilton, Steven Palmer, Eliud Rutto and Emmanuel Tugumisirize captured the first-place title with a season-best time of 3:06.83. Adding to the men's accomplishments was the 4x800-meter relay team of Asa Bowman, Geoffrey Akena, Hillary Rono and Rutto, who placed third in the event with a time of 7:35.92.

The women's squad was led by the distance medley and 4x100-meter relay.
