PORTSMOUTH, Va. - After an impressive showing at the Portsmouth Invitational April 16-19, Shawn Jones of the Middle Tennessee men's basketball team was named to the Under Armour 2014 All-Tournament Team.

Jones played for Roger Brown's Restaurant team at the four-day event. He represented his team on the All-Tourney squad after averaging a double-double in three games at the PIT with 12.6 points and 11.6 rebounds per game.

The MT big man, opened the Portsmouth Invitational April 16, helping his team to a 77-74 win. Jones had 11 points, while snagging a team-best 10 boards and recording a game-best four blocks in 29 minutes of action. Two days later the Hialeah, Fla., native paced Roger Brown's Restaurant with 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while swatting two blocks and swiping two steals.

Jones closed out the PIT Saturday evening, posting his third-straight double-double. He put up 12 points and pulled down a game-best 15 boards, including 10 off of the defensive glass. He also recorded a game-best four blocks in the contest.

Each year the PIT invites 64 of the best college basketball seniors from across the nation to participate in a four-day, twelve game tournament in front of representatives from every NBA team. Over the years the PIT has been a showcase for five of the 50 greatest players in NBA History (Rick Barry, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe, Dave Cowens, John Stockton, Scottie Pippen) and for many others who have gone on to NBA stardom.
