MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A group of Middle Tennessee men's tennis alumni reunited recently, celebrating the success of their past teams from over 40 years ago while enjoying a match at the facility that bears one of their names.

Eight Blue Raiders who played in Murfreesboro between 1964 and 1969 - Jim "Yogi" Burgerner, Steve Wakefield, Jim Seymour, Chick Fuller, Neal Wright, Jean Prevost, Mike Albano and Jack Whitley - along with former head coach Buck Bouldin, traveled from places as far as Quebec to attend Middle Tennessee's April 11 match vs. USF at Buck Bouldin Tennis Center. Those in attendance then took part in a dinner at the Hendrix Stadium Club that night with athletic director Chris Massaro and head men's tennis coach Jimmy Borendame.

"The reunion was an awesome weekend for the alumni and the current players," said Borendame. "It was great to hear some stories from the past teams and show them around campus. We were able to forge some great relationships and I look forward to continuing them, while keeping the alumni informed of the team's progress."

Prevost and Albano were named All-Ohio Valley Conference in 1968 and 1969, respectively, while Bouldin was named OVC Coach of the Year in 1965 and 1968. Bouldin is one of three Blue Raider men's tennis coaches to win multiple conference coach of the year awards, along with Borendame and Dale Short.
