Patterson on C-USA All-Academic Team

Junior boasts 4.0 GPA and team's top stroke average

IRVING, TEXAS - The 2014 Conference USA Men's Golf All-Academic Team was announced today after a vote by the league's sports information directors for men's golf. The five-man team includes Middle Tennessee's Brett Patterson.

Thomas Sutton* - UAB, R-Sr., Montgomery, Ala. - 4.0 GPA, MBA
Martin Simonsen* - UTEP, Jr., Gistrup, Denmark - 3.66 GPA, pre-business

Patterson boasts a team-leading 73.0 stroke average in 26 rounds this season. The redshirt junior was named the C-USA Golfer of the Week on Nov. 13 following a fourth-place finish at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational where he tied the school record with a 13-under 203 (67-71-65). Patterson's final-round 65 was a career-best performance, burying eight birdies. The McMinnville, Tenn., native has six top-20 finishes in nine events this season. A business administration major with a flawless 4.0 GPA, Patterson has been named to the Dean's List every semester of his collegiate career.

The 2014 C-USA Men's Golf Championship will be held April 27-29 at Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond, Okla. Fourteen teams will compete for this year's title.
