MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee head men's basketball coach Kermit Davis will be the keynote speaker Thursday night at Journeys in Community Living's annual awards Ceremony and silent auction.

The event will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro. This is the nonprofit organization's premier fundraiser in April. The evening begins with a silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. Dinner will also be served at the event.

Davis led the Blue Raiders to a 24-9 record this season, including a 13-3 mark in Conference USA play. During the 2013-14 season, MT earned its third-straight conference regular season title and fourth in the last five years under Davis.

"I'm just really looking forward to being with Journeys in Community Living tonight," Davis said. "It should be an outstanding charity event for an unbelievable cause. I know myself and our entire staff will be there."

Journeys in Community Living is a nonprofit organization that supports adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization provides its services to approximately 120 adults with intellectual disabilities in Rutherford and Cannon counties.
